Rules governing the use of SWAG emails

Emails are only permitted for the following purposes:

1). Circulating details of SWAG events. Walks, Weekends away, Holidays, Social events.

2). SWAG committee announcements.

3). Any Email that causes offence, either from the subject matter or what could be deemed as a personal attack or insult, needs to be dealt with by the committee. Anyone feeling that an Email is inappropriate should contact the committee and not reply to the sender as this might inflame the situation. Committee

4). The use of the SWAG name should not be used in association with any items or events not related to SWAG’s normal activities, without the prior agreement of the SWAG committee.

Email Etiquette

When replying to a general email, always reply to the sender (Reply) and NOT REPLY ALL. This avoids lots of emails being generated that are not of interest to most people.

If you are the original owner of a general email, offering to put on an event and are just looking for numbers, then, there afterwards, create an “email group” to ensure that follow-up emails are sent to just those who have replied.

It is important to state that it is your own responsibility to configure your own email account.
